Our process

Step 1: Discovery

From your first meeting you will notice that working with Antler Wealth Management is different. Our number one priority at this stage is to listen and fully understand you, your family and your long-term financial priorities. Wealth Management should never be about short-term transactional fixes, so we always encourage a holistic plan for you and any dependants.

Step 2: Risk Assessment

Once we’ve completed the Discovery phase, we then have a detailed discussion around risk appetite and your protection needs.

It is very important to ensure that in the event of a serious illness or death, that your family are looked after and not exposed to any financial hardship. We call this a protection review.

We then move onto investment risk, which involves you understanding the balance between asset class risk versus reward and agreeing on a suitable level of risk given your objectives. We will challenge you if you are taking too little or too much risk to meet your objectives.

Step 3: Modelling and Planning

Modelling and Planning will be introduced towards the end of the Risk Assessment stage. We use advanced cash flow modelling software to set out your future path based upon pre-agreed assumptions on taxation, inflation and asset growth. We will use your current situation as a base plan, and then look to optimise your planning via carefully considered wealth restructuring. This modelling will form the backbone of all ongoing financial reviews. At this juncture, we will also inform you of any estate planning matters that may be appropriate.

Step 4: Proposal

We now set to work compiling all of your information and structure the optimal solution given your requirements. Our proposal will be compiled in a suitability report and the suitability of the advice will be guaranteed* by St. James's Place.

Step 5: Ongoing relationship

Once you are a client of Antler Wealth Management we encourage regular face-to-face advice to ensure we can provide you with as much support as needed. We will:

  • Understand your financial circumstances and objectives
  • Fully review your financial goals and adapt to any changes
  • Review and, if applicable, rebalance your investment portfolio and fund choices
  • Help you maximise your annual tax allowances
  • Keep you up to date with legislation and Budget changes
  • Help you to review your appetite for investment risk as your circumstances and priorities evolve, ensuring your investments continue to meet your requirements
  • Encourage and listen to your feedback, so as to ensure we maintain our exceptional standards
  • Support you in any way we can, via our network of clients and intermediaries
  • Provide regular in-house content and opinion, covering the financial news of the day, as well as exclusive interviews with experts and fund managers.
  • Invite you to regular client networking and social events hosted throughout the year.

By following these steps, we will add significant amounts of additional value in monitoring your investments via tax efficiency and discipline – we call this ‘advice alpha’ and this is what we strive to maximise every tax year for each of our clients.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

The levels and bases of taxation, and reliefs from taxation, can change at any time. The value of any tax relief is generally dependent on individual circumstances.

*St. James's Place guarantees the suitability of the advice given by members of the St. James's Place Partnership when recommending any of the wealth management products and services available from companies in the Group, more details of which are set out on the Group's website at www.sjp.co.uk/products.
